Inspector Charlie Munro joined Northumbria Police in 1982 and has been involved with Northumbria Police Federation since 2003, when he was elected Inspectors' representative for Newcastle Area Command. Charlie was appointed Vice Chairman of the Joint Branch Board in 2006 and subsequently Chairman of the Joint Branch Board in January 2011. In his capacity as Chairman of the Federation, Charlie is the Discipline Leader and Media Contact. He is also responsible for Health Management and Welfare and Efficiency issues. |

Sergeant Gordon Armstrong joined Northumbria Police in 1991 and has been involved with Northumbria Police Federation since 2004, when he was elected Sergeants' Representative for Northumbria Area Command. Gordon was appointed Chairman of the Sergeants' Branch Board in October 2008 and subsequently Vice Chairman of the Joint Branch Board in January 2011. Steve Torley joined Northumbria Police in November 1982 and has served in Northumbria and Newcastle Area Commands. Having been elected Sergeants' Representative for Newcastle in November 2006, Steve was elected Secretary of the Sergeants' Branch Board and Assistant Secretary of the Joint Branch Board in January 2009. He was then appointed Joint Branch Board Secretary in January 2010. Steve's many specialisms include Discipline, Health & Safety, and Equality as well as Student Officer issues. MICHAEL BUYERS BA
JOINT BRANCH BOARD TREASURER Michael Buyers joined Northumbria Police in July 1982 and has served in Gateshead, Northumbria and latterly North Tyneside Area Commands. Having been elected Constables' Representative for North Tyneside in 2001, Mick went on to be elected Assistant Secretary of the Constables Branch Board in 2004. He took up his current post of JBB Treasurer in June 2008. Michael's many specialisms include Discipline, Health & Safety, Equality issues, as well as Pensions and DWP Claims. KEITH THOMPSON JOINT BRANCH BOARD ASSISTANT SECRETARY Keith Thompson joined Northumbria Police in June 1984 serving in Sunderland , South Tyneside, Dog Section and latterly with Intelligence and Technical Support. Having been elected Sunderland Area Command Constables' Rep in 2005 , Keith was elected Vice Chairman of the Constables' Branch Board in 2008, taking up his current post as Joint Branch Board Assistant Secretary in January 2010. Keith has a range of responsibilities which include Federation Lead in Health and Safety, as well as having a supportive role in respect of Student Officers. He is also fully trained in Equality issues, Discipline and Post Incident Procedures. This is in addition to his duties as a Sunderland Area Command Constables' representative.
